vamiali’s gallery is pleased to present the group painting show titled Sunset in Athens II , with artists Tasha Amini (UK), Hansjörg Dobliar (Germany), Till Gerhard (Germany), Violet Hopkins (LA), Dani Jakob (Germany), Ruben Mendez (Mexico), Katy Moran (UK).

The exhibition presents the different genres of painting. Seven international important artists participate in “Sunset in Athens II” where each one approaches the language of painting with his or her own very personal vocabulary. A group show which is dedicated to the different directions of painting which includes figuration, references to modernism, an extremely skilled, detailed and almost controlled abstraction, personal references and memory, a fine line between reality and fiction, a denial of the linear narration, a point where fantasy and representation meet. The participant artists get their inspiration from different sources, the world that surrounds them, (Tasha Amini), abstraction and design (Hansjörg Dobliar), pop icons and fantasies (Till Gerhard), visual effects and nature (Violet Hopkins), romanticism and patterns (Dani Jakob), advertisement and logos (Ruben Mendez), gestural painting and the masters (Katy Moran).

Exhibition “Sunset in Athens II”, is gallery’s annual celebration of contemporary painting. It is the continuation of the exhibition “Sunset in Athens” which presented in vamiali’s gallery on February 2005.
